About APi CAD Services
APi CAD Services is a technology based solutions provider serving the industrial and specialty construction industry. Our goals are to help our clients identify ways to eliminate waste and increase value within their design, coordination, prefabrication, installation, and facilities management processes. The vehicle to best provide this service is Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CAD). Our goals joined with the evolving CAD technology gave birth to a new and grand initiative - Building Information Modeling (BIM).
BIM can be defined as the process of creating and using digital models for design, construction and/or operations of projects.*
In order to qualify as a BIM project the building model must exhibit six essential characteristics:
- Digital (CAD)
- Spatial (3D)
- Measurable (quantifiable, dimension-able, and query-able)
- Comprehensive (encapsulate and communicate design intent, building performance constructibility, and include sequential and financial aspects of means and methods)
- Accessible (to the entire AEC/ owner team through an interoperable and intuitive interface)
- Durable (usable through all phases of a facility's life) **
At APi CAD Services, we recognize and embrace our responsibility to the construction industry. In an ever-evolving society with increasing awareness of our relationship to and impact on the planet, it is no wonder that the BIM, Lean, and Green initiatives have gained so much momentum in the last decade. As a member of the buildingSMART alliance we are able to collaborate with other like-minded individuals and organizations to pursue our common vision, mission and goals.
